Stakes for Securing

A trench needs to be dug at the bottom of the slope that you’ve created. This trench will contain the coconut fiber log. The trench should measure 6” deep by 1’ wide and as long as your sloped streambank. If you are not using coconut fiber logs, this step can be skipped. Times you would not use a coconut fiber log are when the water level in your stream is low throughout the year or flow is really low throughout the year.
