Land conservation, environmental restoration with native plants, and healthy forests are key tools to protect water and filter contaminates. The Watershed Institute has preserved 950 acres of land at the Watershed Reserve and has partnered with local land trusts to preserve hundreds of additional acres in the region. Our stewardship team is working to improve the ecological quality of the reserve by removing invasive plants, managing deer populations, planting native species and restoring meadows. We also engage with local communities, sharing our knowledge and expertise in green infrastructure, tree plantings, and removing old dams.
