Your water. Your environment. Your voice.

In February 2014, the Watershed Association along with several other groups filed a petition with the NJDEP asking them to update permits governing stormwater runoff from municipal storm sewers, highways, and developed sites. In the petition, we sought stronger requirements to capture polluted runoff using green infrastructure such as rain gardens, roadside plantings, and porous pavement and other improvements in the permit. Since that petition has been filed, we have met with NJDEP several times and are awaiting the release of it’s draft permit. Improving the permit is important to reduce stormwater pollution and protect water quality here in New Jersey.
