"If a child is to keep alive his inborn sense of wonder,
he needs the companionship of at least one adult who can share it, rediscovering
with him the joy, excitement and mystery of the world we live in."

- Rachel Carson

Maple Sugaring Program The Association offers a variety of services for environmental educators including class field trips that employ hands-on techniques that support NJ Core Curriculum Content Standards. Our workshops provide teachers with networking opportunities, ideas for incorporating environmental topics into curriculums, as well as a growing list of electronic resources and websites. Teachers also earn professional development credit by participating in our workshops.

We recognize the unique opportunity that educators have to provide children with an appreciation, understanding and knowledge of the world in which we live. We offer more than 50 years of experience, and lessons learned from working with schools and educators to address challenges in environmental education. We strive to provide educators with the fuel to fortify their efforts to teach children and to instill in them the passion for the natural environment.

The Association aims not only to increase the level of environmental literacy, but also to generate an atmosphere of stewardship. Our curricula provides opportunities for educators and students to participate in stewardship projects. We provide field-tested, ready-to-use lessons for both formal and non-formal educators as part of an expanding environmental education curriculum.
