"The conservationist’s most important task,
if we are to save the earth, is to educate."
- Peter Scott, founder chairman of the World Wildlife Federation,
quoted in the Sunday Telegraph, November 6, 1986.
The Association offers a number of opportunities for you to connect with and to experience the natural wonders of the Stony Brook-Millstone Watershed. Annually, we offer nearly 400 programs for about 10,000 participants.
The Association offers public programs for preschoolers through adults including our weekly and biweekly preschool and after school series, weekend programs for children, families and adults, night hikes, wilderness trips, nature photography courses, maple sugaring, a literature series and much, much more.
From September through June, the Association also offers field trips for schools, colleges, scouts and other groups. Throughout the school year, teachers and educators will find an array of workshops that inspire, refresh, and fortify their own efforts to teach children about the environment. During the summer, we offer our inspirational and fun summer camp for 1st-9th grade students.
Our Teacher-Naturalist Internship Program is an excellent opportunity for new educators or experienced educators new to the environmental field. The Internship Program provides intensive training and experience in a wide variety of activities.
Be sure to check the Calendar of Events for our upcoming schedule.
Registration is required for all programs - both free and those requiring a fee, so please call 609-737-7592 and tell our Nature Center staff which you or your family are planning to attend.
