Event Description

Our First Sunday Film Series offers the opportunity for people to learn about environmental topics related to our mission while enjoying an afternoon on the Watershed Reserve, every first Sunday of the month at 1pm.  Enjoy free, organic, locally sourced popcorn during the films and stick around to experience over 10 miles of hiking trails, our discovery hall, and seasonal butterfly house that are also all free to the public.

This month’s film: Before the Flood [PG] 2016 Documentary – 1h 36min

Actor and environmental activist Leonardo DiCaprio travels the world to examine firsthand the effects of climate change, and to learn more about possible ways to prevent catastrophic damage that could make the Earth unsustainable for human life. During his journey, he speaks with such influential figures as President Barack Obama, Pope Francis, and tech innovator Elon Musk, and makes a speech before the United Nations calling for greater action on this issue.  Producers: Leonardo DiCaprio, Fisher Stevens, Brett Ratner, James Packer, Trevor Davidoski, Jennifer Davisson Killoran.  Executive Producer: Martin Scorcese.

After the film, Watershed Executive Director, Jim Waltman will lead a discussion on climate change.  We hope you will join us!

Free environmental films will be displayed every first Sunday of the month at 1pm unless noted otherwise. For questions or more information on these screenings, call 609-737-3735 x10.
