A grassroots, citizen-based volunteer organization formed to promote and encourage a comprehensive approach to planning, conservation, preservation of open space, protection of natural resources and protection of places of historical interest for the Sourland Mountain and its environs, the Sourlands Planning Council was awarded a Smart Future Planning Grant by the NJ Department of Community Affairs' Office of Smart Growth. This Comprehensive Management Planning Project is being adminstered under their supervision.
