A strong community is the guardian of the watershed. The Association is working to build a strong community through partnership.  The actions, voices, and hard work of many are required to ensure protection of the natural environment and a high quality of life for all. Therefore, we have established several networks to facilitate community partnership.

We recognize that one of the most important features of our organization is a growing sense of community. We are citizens, volunteers, neighbors, children, and adults, working side-by-side to build a sense of place, and sustain the quality of life where we live, work, and play. One way we accomplish this is through outreach activities and working with citizens, local groups, and municipal, county and state leaders, to adopt thoughtful and balanced approaches for growth while preserving our natural resources and protecting the environment.

WatershedWatch (formerly known as the Natural Lands Network) provides a network for citizens, organizations, and public officials that are committed to preserve open space and natural resources in the Stony Brook-Millstone Watershed.

The Watershed Institute seeks to enhance a network of watershed organizations throughout New Jersey by providing tailored advice, acting as a resource clearinghouse, hosting workshops, and administering a small grants program.

Membership is free for these programs and various instructional materials and workshop announcements are highlighted on the program webpages.
