The Watershed Institute is excited to host a free Citizen Science Public Forum from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Oct. 23 along with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (Region 2) and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.
Presenters at New Jersey environmental organizations will discuss key issues impacting the volunteer water monitoring community.
- Anahita Williamson, Director of the Division of Environmental Science and Assessment at EPA Region 2
- Katie Angarone, Acting Associate Commissioner of Policy at NJDEP
- Carol Collier, Senior Advisor for Watershed Management and Policy at the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University
- Danielle Donkersloot, Clean Water Program Director at the Izaak Walton League of America.
The event will also include brief talks on a variety of monitoring topics such as harmful algal blooms, drone surveys for restoration effectiveness, continuous sensors, and successful cross-sector monitoring partnerships.
