Chase the sun with each stride as we approach the longest day of the year during the 7th Annual Solstice Trail Run, with check in starting at 5 p.m. on June 18 at The Watershed Institute.
The Solstice Trail Run has an important purpose: Our goal is to raise $27,000 from the entry fees, race team efforts, and donations to support the Watershed’s mission to protect and restore clean water.
The starting gun goes off 5:30 p.m. for 5K and 10K races and there will be virtual races for those who prefer to run elsewhere. Medals will be awarded to the top three male/female runners in eight different brackets spanning from age 14 to 70-plus. Runners will receive a race bib, t-shirt or tank top and a certificate of completion.
Bring your family and friends to cheer you on as your run through the Watershed Reserve’s meadows, sun-dappled trails, and along the banks of Wargo Pond. The course will keep you challenged as you race through varied terrain and slight elevation changes (10K course).
Trail guardians will offer water for your refillable water bottle at several stations along the route so you stay hydrated as the sun descends into dusk.
Back at the Watershed Center, join the post-race festivities and enjoy the live DJ’s music. Refresh yourself with food trucks – Woodcraft BBQ & Thai Cha Chak – and relax in our beer and wine tent (adults only). Finally, treat yourself to some S’mores roasted over a fire pit before heading home and call it the end of a successful race day!
