Support Stronger Protections for NJ’s Streams

May 29th, 2019

For the first time in more than a decade, the state Department of Environmental Protection has proposed to upgrade protections to about 750 miles of waterways in New Jersey.

Earlier this spring, NJDEP proposed Category One designations to 749 miles of streams in New Jersey, including the Rock Brook in Montgomery Township and Jacobs Creek in Hopewell Township. This designation recognizes these waterways’ exceptional ecological value and provides additional protections to maintain and improve water quality.

NJDEP is accepting comments on this rule proposal. Please provide your support for these streams here.
