The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection wants your comments on Transco’s proposed Northeast Supply Enhancement Project.

Williams Transco has proposed a pipeline project to transport large volumes of natural gas from Pennsylvania, through New Jersey and to New York. The project would require building a compressor station near the Trap Rock Quarry in Franklin Township and would involve cutting down forests, crossing three streams and impacting wetlands. Additionally, this project would construct a new pipeline under the Raritan Bay.

Last summer, Transco has resubmitted applications for permits to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.  NJDEP has to decide whether to issue the permits for the application and decide if the project meets are stringent water quality standards. Please tell the NJDEP that the NESE project will have negative impacts on our water quality and cannot be built without harming our environment.

Please contact NJDEP and urge the agency to act now to reject Transco’s application for this environmentally damaging fossil fuel project.
