New Jersey’s municipalities have until March 2, 2021 to implement new stormwater management ordinances. The ordinances must be updated to incorporate the changes made to the stormwater management regulations published by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP). While a step in the right direction, these changes will not do enough to reverse the pollution of our waterways or address increasing flooding. The state rule is a baseline change and The Watershed Institute and other environmental organizations advocate going further.
