Consider our Platinum LEED Certified Watershed Center for your next event. The Watershed promotes a sustainable, low waste, environmentally friendly venue. We have a variety of spaces available for private, non-profit and corporate events.

Weddings & Milestone Events

The Watershed Center is available for weddings, bar/bat mitzvahs, anniversaries, and other large celebrations of 75-125 guests.

$4,000 for a full-day rental of the entire Watershed Center (up to 8 hours). Please contact us for your specific needs and explore the tabs to the right for smaller gatherings.

Event hosts and guests have access to Gorrie Hall, the adjacent Discovery Room exhibit hall, and the Betty Wold Johnson Learning Center. (Larger events which would require outdoor tented space will be considered for an additional fee. Please contact us for more details.)

Gorrie Hall

Accommodates up to 75 guests seated at dining tables. Perfect space for receptions, cocktail parties, and large general meetings. The space can be configured for audience or table seating. This space features a magical view facing out towards the Kate Gorrie Butterfly house, rain gardens with native plantings and the historic farm house that served as the Watershed offices for many years and was the long-time home of Dr. Muriel Buttinger.

$325 per hour

Betty Wold Johnson Learning Center

This dividable classroom environment can accommodate up to 100 people seated audience style, or 60 seated at tables. With the dividing wall closed each room holds up to 50 people or 30 seated classroom style. A/V capabilities with a speaker’s podium are available built into the room logistics including panel presentation options by request. This space features a spectacular northern view looking out onto the Watershed Reserve.

$180 per hour / $90 per hour individually

Conference Room

A private conference room that can accommodate up to 15 people sitting around a conference table or up to 25 for an audience style presentation. Conference call and projector capabilities are available upon request. This space features a spectacular northern view looking out onto the Watershed Reserve.

$75 per hour

Irving B. Kingsford Room

A cozy, sizable conference space that accommodates 45 people adjacent to the historic farmhouse. Speaker podium, restroom, conference calling, and kitchenette are available to all rental groups.

$90 per hour

We will rent our 2,400-square-foot tent from May through October for interested parties. Our tent rental includes wifi, access to restrooms, multiple picnic tables, a lemonade stand (could be used as a bar), and lighting. Our tent is available for weddings and other milestone events. We offer an eight-hour block (setup, ceremony, reception, clean-up) for $2,000. Access to indoor restrooms and nearby grounds is included. An audio system is available for an extra fee.  Other amenities are available, upon inquiry.

Our tent is also available for smaller events for $150/hour (not including set up and clean up). Minimal tent rental at this rate is three hours and the maximum is four hours. This is perfect for school groups, corporate gatherings, family events, workshops, and celebrations.

Catering/Food services are not provided, but are available from our approved, eco-friendly list of vendors (last tab on right) who meet our requirements for a sustainable, low-waste event. The Watershed has a small kitchen that can be used for light food prep and staging. There is no additional charge for use of the kitchen. Tables and chairs can be provided for your event at no additional charge. Waste and recycling receptacles are provided – use of disposable plastic, balloons, and styrofoam are strictly prohibited. Recyclable and compostable dishware can be provided for a fee.

Rental Requirements:

All renters, including organizations, businesses, schools, clubs, and municipalities must submit the following information prior to the scheduled event:

  • 25% non-refundable deposit – balance is due two weeks prior to the event
  • Signed Watershed Rental Agreement
  • Insurance Certificate/Accord listing The Watershed Institute as an additional insured
  • Hold Harmless Agreement
  • Groups of 75 people or more must submit a $200 refundable security deposit
  • Alcohol may be served with proof of host liquor liability insurance & bartender service.
  • The Watershed Institute and its surrounding grounds are a smoke-free campus.

All guests are invited to take a walk on the Watershed Reserve as part of your event. Walks can be guided or self-led by simply choosing one of our marked trails. Groups interested in adding a guided walk can inquire during the reservation process.
