Demonstration of responsible land management continues to be a primary focus on the Watershed Reserve. From 1991 until late 2020, a portion of the Reserve was leased to Honey Brook Organic Farm, a privately owned and operated enterprise that provided fresh organic produce through its Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program.
Beginning in 2023, a portion of the Watershed Reserve is being leased to Fairgrown Farm. Farmers James and Alex Klett are the co-founders and operators of the farm, which has built upon the success of Honey Brook Organic Farm with a new model that combines organic produce grown at the Watershed with crops grown by other farmers through a collaborative agreement. Fairgrown Farm offers Pickup Shares at the farm located on The Watershed Institute property – Wednesday through Saturday, as well as home delivery options. The collaborative farm share program runs year-round.
