The Watershed Institute is excited to share a new resource on invasive species. Sophia Noto, a senior at the Hopewell Valley Central High School, initiated and designed this comic book as part of her Gold Award project for the Girl Scouts.
This resource features an introduction to invasive species, some of the plants that are of concern on the Watershed grounds and the surrounding area, and ideas on how to remove them safely. An invasive species can be any kind of living organism – a plant, insect, fish, fungus, or bacteria – that is not native to an ecosystem and causes harm to the place it was introduced. Invasive plants are detrimental to the environment, grow and reproduce quickly, and spread aggressively. Please explore this exciting and informative comic book!
