Conference Topics and Speakers
Addressing the catastrophic flooding and serious water quality issues that New Jersey faces will not be possible unless these challenges are addressed at a watershed scale. This will require unprecedented coordination and cooperation across municipal and county boundaries. This 7th New Jersey Watershed Conference will offer specific strategies, tools and lessons learned to inform the development of regional approaches in New Jersey.
Professional CEUs
The Watershed Institute is a certified course provider for Continuing Legal Education credits (CLEs) and Professional Engineer credits (PEs). We will be offering NJ CEUs for attorneys, professional engineers, planners, and certified floodplain managers for applicable sessions. Check out the agenda and/or session descriptions for sessions offering Attorneys (CLEs), Professional Engineers (PEs), Planners (APA/AICP CMs) and Certified Flood Plain Managers credits. Applicable sessions will have a “CEUs Available” tag as well as the number and type of credits offered.
The Conference is providing the following CEUs depending on the sessions selected:
- CLE: 5.6 credit hours
- PE: 5 credit hours
- Planners CMs: 7.5 credit hours
- CFM: 5 credit hours
CEUs are an additional option during registration. Please note that there is an extra $30 charge for CEUs.

This is a great opportunity to get your name out in front of hundreds of attendees including municipal leaders, engineers, watershed advocates, businesses, and community members who will need to work together across municipal boundaries to solve New Jersey’s environmental problems. Your sponsorship will help defray conference expenses and allow us to keep registration fees low. It will also provide scholarships for students and others requiring financial aid. A table will be reserved for all sponsors who support the conference at the $1,000 level or above.

Financial Aid
One of the goals of The Watershed Institute is to be inclusive and equitable for those who want to learn about what they can do to help improve health, access, stewardship, and restoration of waterways in New Jersey. Financial aid supports students, partners, professionals, and engaged community members who may not have access to funding or may have to take a day off from work or school to attend the conference.
Financial Aid is available at a first come – first serve basis. Please note that we will no longer be providing any in-person scholarships. Those selected will be contacted by Pri Oliveira who will provide a discount code to use during registration.
Register by Purchase Order
Many municipalities’ staff register for our events using purchase orders. Here are some simple instructions on how to register by purchase order.
- Send Pri a scanned copy of the purchase order. Please make sure to add the names of all prospective registrants, their job titles, and their emails
- Use the ‘pay later’ option at checkout to bypass payment at registration. Once the PO is processed and we receive a check, the balance will be adjusted.
- Pri will send you a signed copy of the purchase order back.
