Honoring Martin Luther King

January 15th, 2021

Dr. Martin Luther King’s actions not only led to the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Voting Rights Act of 1965; his work paved the way for environmental legislation such as the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and Endangered Species Act.

The Watershed Institute stands in solidarity with people and institutions throughout the nation who are voicing and demonstrating their commitment to racial justice and equality. Environmental Justice—the universal human right to clean water, clean air, healthy land, and access to parks and public land — is inextricably linked to racial justice.
