The Watershed Science Teacher Academy is a research-based partnership with Princeton University that offers an invaluable experience for educators teaching kindergarten through high school. Learn from field-based experiments and data collection with scientists in environmental science and engineering to implement the Next Generation Science Standards into your curriculum.
We are a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and restoring water in central New Jersey. We immerse teachers in environmental investigations of water quality and strategies to mitigate the problems of polluted stormwater runoff.
2020 STREAMWATCH SCHOOLS: JUNE 29-JULY 2
During this four-day program, teachers of students from all grade levels will participate in stream studies and find out how to:
- Assess stream water quality through a variety of criteria and techniques, going to three different levels of data depth.
- Discover the right testing equipment for your grade level and budget.
- Learn how to engage your students in real field science data collection and review.
- Join our NJ StreamWatch Schools Network and collaborate with other schools from across the state.
This session includes Project WET training. Participants will take home the Project WET Curriculum and Activity Guide.

2020 CLEAN WATER: JULY 6-10
In this five-day program, teachers will:
- Explore the causes and impacts of stormwater runoff.
- Observe how actual green infrastructure is being used to decrease stormwater runoff and its associated pollution.
- Learn how to engage students in the engineering design process.
- Develop stormwater ‘mitigation’ plans through collaboration with other teachers.
This session includes field trips to several different sites to take part in stormwater site assessments.
