Holiday Open House – Saturday, Dec. 3 – Free

November 18th, 2022

Celebrate the season as you explore our staff-led and self-guided activities at the Watershed Center!

Enjoy our self-guided scavenger hunt, delight in our festive holiday decorations that magically transform the Watershed Center, do some arts and crafts, and browse our gift shop. We will offer light refreshments all day.

From 10 a.m. to noon, meet our resident critters and enjoy our live music! We will offer light refreshments and self-guided explorations from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Our Watershed Nature Shop offers gifts that focus on the environment, nature, and sustainability. Come meet some of the local artists at our Holiday Open House, including those who have written books, created jewelry and beadwork, made notecards with images from the Watershed Reserve, a beekeeper, a farmer, and more! Hear about how they use their talents for their creative work.

Watershed Educator Vicky Allen will demonstrate how to make a bird house from a gourd!

You’ll delight in the fall items for sale, including felted acorns, glass pumpkins, and ceramic acorns. There are owl and mushroom prints, as well as cards printed on handmade paper from Nepal. There is also a variety of Fair Trade items, locally produced artwork, spice mix, and honey. For children, there are Folkmanis puppets, science-themed activity kits, toys of all sizes, and books to stir the imagination.

Small Business Saturday will be celebrated on Nov. 26 and our shop will offer a large selection of holiday decorations and gifts for all ages.

Members enjoy a 10 percent discount off of items in our Nature Shop, so become a member today or consider giving a gift of a membership to The Watershed Institute to a friend or relative!
