Major Win for Clean Water & Our Communities!

Last night the Hillsborough Planning Board denied a massive warehouse proposal that would have destroyed wetlands, filled in a stream, and worsened flooding in the Royce Brook watershed.

Over three years and 25 hearings, the public stood strong in opposition. The Watershed Institute proudly joined Local Citizens Against Traffic, Stop Warehouses and Trucking, the Sourland Conservancy, and many others to show that this project failed to meet township requirements and would harm the environment.

We are grateful to the Planning Board for carefully considering the impacts and choosing to protect Hillsborough and our shared environment.

Together, we showed that persistence matters—and that our voices can make a difference!
