Governor Sherrill has a historic opportunity to make New Jersey a national leader by implementing the NJ PACT REAL flood protection rules. These common-sense standards ensure new homes, businesses and roads are built above flood lines to withstand rising waters.
So why are these life-saving rules on hold? Because wealthy developers and corporate special interests are fighting to kill them.
Special Interests are running a massive disinformation campaign to roll back these flood protections simply because they don’t want to spend a dime to build safe, resilient structures. They want to construct vulnerable buildings in areas we know will flood, collect their millions in profits and walk away — leaving working families and local business owners to deal with flooded living rooms, destroyed storefronts and unpayable insurance bills.
