Summer Fairy Festival

Calling all fairies, mythical creatures and friends! The Summer Fairy Festival will be on July 15 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and feature a special guest visit from Sapphire the Mermaid. Sapphire will greet children with tales from the sea! Activities include building fairy cottages, mermaid games, an obstacle course and more. Come dressed as a fairy or other mythical creature. This event is appropriate for ages 2 & up. Adult attendance is required. Discounts are available for members.

Butterfly Festival

Mark your calendars for August 5 and prepare for a vibrant celebration at the Annual Butterfly Festival. This extraordinary event offers an array of delights, including the captivating Kate Gorrie Butterfly House, the Insect Zoo, Bug & Butterfly parades, engaging crafts, delectable food, and delightful hayrides. The festival promises a day filled with joy, discovery, and appreciation for the delicate and beautiful creatures that flutter through our world. If you are unable to attend the festival, fret not, as the Kate Gorrie Butterfly House welcomes visitors from dawn to dusk every day, offering a serene haven for butterfly enthusiasts. Hickory Loop Boardwalk

If you’re seeking a leisurely outdoor experience, take a stroll along the newly constructed Hickory Loop Boardwalk. This fully accessible raised walkway spans an impressive 0.7 miles, guiding you through picturesque forests, meadows, and a stream. Immerse yourself in the tranquil ambiance of nature as you soak up the breathtaking scenery at your own pace.

Ten miles of Trails and The Watershed Center

The Watershed Institute also invites you to explore the expansive network of trails at The Watershed Reserve, totaling 10 miles in length. Whether you prefer an early morning hike or an afternoon adventure, the trails are open from dawn to dusk, offering an opportunity to witness the beauty of nature firsthand. Additionally, The Watershed Center exhibits are available for exploration on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and weekends from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., providing an educational and immersive experience for visitors of all ages.
