Discussion Health of New Jersey Waters – March 16

February 22nd, 2022

Access The Discussion Here at 5:45 on Wednesday

As we near the 50th Anniversary of the Clean Water Act, please join us for a free, virtual conversation from 6 – 7:15 p.m on Wednesday, March 16 about the health and safety of our water.

The Watershed Institute’s Executive Director Jim Waltman and New York Times best-selling author, Seth Siegel, will have an important fireside chat about the health of New Jersey’s waterways and the safety of our drinking water. Siegel is the author of Troubled Water: What’s Wrong with What We Drink, which presents an ambitious agenda for a fundamental rethinking of America’s water system. He is also the author of the critically acclaimed Let There Be Water: Israel’s Solution for a Water-Starved World.

The vast majority of the waterways in New Jersey do not yet meet the standards of the Clean Water Act. Concerns about harmful chemicals in our drinking water are on the rise. Just recently state officials announced that dozens of New Jersey water systems that serve 500,000 residents exceeded new standards announced last year for PFAS, a family of chemicals linked to cancer.

Don’t miss this important program, which is part of our Watershed Wednesday series.
